New Research on Predicting Chronic Pain

How children and teens perform in physical education class (PE) class predicts their risk of future musculoskeletal conditions, especially chronic pain, say scientists in Sweden.

In Sweden, children attend compulsory school from ages 7 to 16. As part of the study, researchers looked at the PE grades of students who graduated from a compulsory school during 1974 to 1976.

In 2003 to 2007, the researchers looked at the former students healthcare records. After adjusting for education and occupation, the investigators found that, in girls, poor PE grades predicted a musculoskeletal diagnosis three decades later. Most of these conditions involved chronic pain and soft tissue disorders. On the other hand, boys with good PE grades were less likely to endure future soft tissue disorders.

“This study indicates that adolescent girls with a low PE grade could be an important group to target with early interventions to reduce future musculoskeletal illness,” conclude the study’s authors.

Watching the Patient’s Results

So, I have been working at Active Life Health and Wellness for almost 3 months and I have seen so many miracles here, it’s amazing! I have seen peoples’ lives change in just a few months. Patients come in for pain like neck pain, back pain, herniations, scoliosis, even pain in their extremeties that no one thought was related to the spine like TMJ and shoulder/leg/arm pain that is destroying their life or at the least preventing them from doing something. After following through with their prescribed care, doing their home therapies, and coming to all appointments, patient’s actually, physically, change their lives by changing their posture and their spine. People have been able to come off of their prescription medication; from heart medication to reflux medication. It’s truly amazing and what we do here really does change lives. I have seen patients fulfill there physical goals like wanting to travel with their loved ones and starting to work out at the gym. I love what I do and I love watching these patients lives change.

Importance of Nutrition AND Physical Health

Today I had a patient ask me, “Tara, I’m feeling great. Not just today, but for a while now. When I’m at home, I’m doing my home rehabilitation exercises and drinking my Ionix Supreme every morning. Is it the Isagenix Ionix Supreme that is making such huge improvements or is it the Chiropractic that is making such a change?

Well, to be honest, it is a little of both.

The Ionix Supreme helps your body to adapt to any stress you may be facing be it chemical, emotional, and/or physical. It gives you the nutrients you need to improve your stamina and energy levels.

Chiropractic adjustments relieve the pressure on your spinal cord and allows your body to work at an optimum level.

Both nutrition and Chiropractic go hand in hand, because both work toward giving you optimal health. You may have a perfect spine, but we all lack nutrition due to how our food is grow, and how much the land is depleated. On the other hand, you may watch what you eat and make sure to eat healthy, whole foods, but you may have a 5? abnormal curvature in your spine in your neck/upper back area which is causing you the tension and pain you’ve been experiencing there, but also the numbness and tingling you feel in your arms and hands, and possibly could be the cause of your high blood pressure due to the nerve that exit your spinal cord in that area being constricted and strangled due to that 5? abnormal curvature.
